FashionBride Interview with Ellen Ho from Hong Photography
Advertisements Nothing is better than creating the most chic, in vogue yet timeless imagery. Ellen Ho, from Hong Photography, thrives on uniqueness, and express this in all wedding, boudoir, and lifestyle photography. I fell in love with her work in just a second and I must admit that I would love a photo sesion signed by her for my wedding. That’s why I am delighted that Ellen had a moment to answer some of my questions. Here is a fabulous interview, read it and don’t forget to visit her website. When did you decided to become a photographer and why did you find this domain interesting?
1 year after graduating from university. I’ve studied Fine Art program focusing on photography at University of Victoria. My sister suggested me to try wedding photography and I did and love it!
Talk us trough the first years of you work. Maybe you could tell us what did change in time? Are your projects different from the very beginning?
There are so many different photography styles. And each year certain photography styles are very popular. When I started doing wedding photography, I went thought many different style in the first 2 years. Then I found the style I love and could define my style. Then after refining my style, now I am focusing on creating innovative and creative style. I think it’s the beginning to the best time of my career as a photographer.
Why should a bride-to-be choose your services?
A bride-to-be should choose my service only when they appreciate my creativity in photography. Not all the couples are suitable for me. And I am not suitable for all the couple. It’s important that the couple and the photographer click. Aside from creating exceptional work, customer service is very important too. I always try to make sure my clients are happy and receive the best service they can get.
Do tell us a bit more about what a bride should do or say to help you – let’s say maybe give you some more details about the lighting on the venue or about the style she will choose for her wedding attire.
I usually go through all the wedding schedule and details with the couples. From lighting, venues, to the wedding style, or even their family. Every little bit helps me to understand them. And the best thing is when they can inspire the photographer!
Have you got any wedding you’ve photographed and that has a very special meaning for you? Can you describe it or can show us a picture?
Unfortunately not yet! But each wedding was so memorable. I am fortunate to be able to share such an important day with so many couples!
From your point of view, how should a perfect wedding be like?
A perfect wedding should be a happy wedding with no stress. The groom and the bride enjoy the wedding no matter what. The wedding is one day in your life.
And tell us what would you offer a future bride and, maybe, other photo teams can’t.
Our style. That’s one thing people can’t copy or take away from us.
Last but not least, do you have any advice for FashionBride readers?
