Royal bride: Kate Middleton and Prince William (IV)
AdvertisementsDespite predictions that rain would put a dampener on the big day, it stayed dry and the sun even managed to poke its head out.
In a stunning ivory gown with lace applique floral detail designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen, Kate walked up the red carpeted aisle a commoner.

Royal bride: Kate Middleton and Prince William Evening Reception
AdvertisementsKate Middleton has changed into a second wedding dress for the evening reception – but her decision to stick to a very similar shape to THE wedding dress shows she knows what suits her.
It is another McQueen design by Sarah Burton, this time a strapless white dress with an embroidered waistband. It is a very similar silhouette with a McQueen fitted bodice and carries the theme from day to night.
She has ditched the train – far more practical for dancing – and an elegant shrug will keep off the spring evening chill.
