Prince Albert II, the sovereign Prince of Monaco, wed his girlfriend, Charlene Wittstock, a South African Olympian, in two ceremonies. The civil rites held on July 1, 2011 at the royal registry office while the lavish Catholic wedding ceremony on July 2, 2011 at the main courtyard of the Palace of Monaco. Just like Prince William, Albert and his girlfriend announced that instead of receiving expensive gifts, guests may donate their gifts to charity they’d chosen.
