When Jennifer Gay and Elizabeth Klob started Cicada 19 years ago, the first wedding gowns they made were for friends and family, as well as Jennifer’s own wedding gown. Their first small shop with just one dressing room has grown to their flagship store in downtown Seattle. It was there they made Elizabeth’s wedding gown, and have had the honor of making gowns for discerning northwest brides for the last 17 years. Their design philosophy is to combine figure enhancing structure with fluidity and movement to create a gown that will feel as good as it looks on the wedding day.

After college in 1986, Edward studied Fashion Design and Dressmaking at the Slims Fashion and Arts School. Experience is the best teacher, however, and so, he first worked as an assistant designer to his mother in her own shop.
