    FashionBride’s Interviews: Anna Schimmel

    Advertisements

sheer-back-wedding-dress-4-AAnna Schimmel’s brand is known for its outstanding gowns, each one hand crafted using the most beautiful fabrics that I source through my connections in Europe. Fulfilling a Bride’s vision of how she dreamed she would look on her wedding day is wonderful to be a part of. We wanted to know a bit more about her work so we sent her a couple of questions. Here is what Anna shared with us. Hopefully all you fashionbrides will enjoy the amazing interview! Don’t forget to check her website at annaschimmel

    1. When did you decided to become a designer and why did you find this domain interesting?

I have worked in fashion for 30 years. Starting out with a dressmaking apprenticeship, then working as a dressmaker in various couture houses I finished seven years of training with a master degree from one of the best fashion schools in Europe. After working as a patternmaker in an Haute Couture house, then running a large theatre workshop, design was the natural progression. I slipped from working behind the scenes into design and with my extensive skill in couture the bridal industry seemed a good fit.

    2. Talk us through the first years of you work. Maybe you could tell us what did change in time? Are your designs different from the very beginning?

Opening my own bridal studio in NZ during the year 2001 I noticed a fairly rigid sense of bridal fashion with certain looks and cuts being the expected. Before the internet was widespread New Zealand really was the end of the world, a beautiful country, full of lovely people, but a year or so behind Europe. The collections of established bridal designers moved slowly and there was not much sense of change and current trends. We were the first designer to offer regular fashionable bridal collections, (beautifully photographed and published online) where every single style was completely new – it took a year or so for others to follow suit. Now trends seemingly move fast, and there are often certain Pinterest photos several of my clients bring to show me in the same week. Interestingly those photos are not always of new styles and I may have noticed them featured a while back, but they have suddenly become hot.

    3. Why should a bride-to-be choose one of your designs?

Anna Schimmel wedding dresses are known for timeless, feminine beauty. Our classic look combined with a modern edge is really what makes us stand out at the first look. The perfect tailoring and luxurious fabrics are distinctive, but more subtle.

    4. Do tell us a bit more about your inspiration sources.

We are surrounded by inspiration, trends are as much in the air as they are on the streets. Bridal fashion develops out of general trends, I can almost see them coming. Outside this current ‘mood’ new fabrics are developed every season and these ask for certain new looks. I am inspired as much by new material, new fashion trends as by the brides I work with.

    5. Have you got any piece you’ve created and that has a very special meaning for you? Can you describe it or can show us a picture?

After my immigration to New Zealand I was freelancing as a patternmaker for local fashion designers. During this time I had my two children. I love the technicalities of patternmaking but I hated the way jobs came in and had to be finished more or less overnight, only to then lose urgency and often not be picked up for days. So I looked around for other jobs and business ideas, but ended up working in where I’m best: couture and fashion. Bridal was the obvious choice, but I wasn’t really a people person and also didn’t know if I could design great looks.

When I decided to try my hand at bridal my children were respectively 1 and 3 years old. We sold our mortgage free house, and took up a lot of debt to move into central Auckland where I was hoping to open a bridal studio. The place we bought was a leaky ruin and we ended up pretty broke. I set up my sewing machine in the dimly lit, mud floor cellar and created my first bridal collection.

This bridal collection was well received and one of the photos is still my favorite – a sparkly blush pink fairytale wedding dress, with layered organza skirt photographed in a rock strewn NZ creek. A very romantic princess gown in a stunning setting. I have the photo on my workshop wall, but all digital copies are long-lost.

    6. From your point of view, how should a perfect bride look like?

    Beautiful, and radiant!

    7. And tell us what would you give her and, maybe, other brands can’t.

Her ideal, spectacular wedding dress and a wonderful, personal experience. We create the perfect dress to frame the brides’ personal beauty.

We are planning to offer our collections online from next season, so watch this space..

    8. Last but not least, do you have any advice for FashionBride readers?

This is your one day to be the very best you could ever be. Treat yourself to your dream wedding dress and feel a million dollars!

    FashionBride’s Interviews: Angel Rivera

    Advertisements

The Angel Rivera collection is the essence of sophistication and glamour in its dramatic silhouettes, finest silks and spectacular beading. Angel Rivera designs for the bride who commands the spotlight.

To learn more we talked to Angel about his work, passion and what makes him the best of his kind. Here is what we learned! Don’t forget to check Angel Rivera’s work at angelrivera

    1. When did you decided to become a designer and why did you find this domain interesting?

Every Saturday, as a young child, my mom took my sisters and I to the flower park in Ohio. We would watch the brides in their beautiful gowns taking their wedding photographs. I became obsessed with their gowns, the way they looked, and the joy in the air. So at the very young age of six, I knew I wanted to be a Bridal gown designer!

    2. Why should a bride-to-be choose one of your designs?

A bride should choose an Angel Rivera gown because it is the essence of sophistication and glamour in its dramatic silhouettes, finest silks and spectacular beading. I design for the bride who commands the spotlight.

    3. What advice would you offer a bride who’s just beginning her dress search?

First I recommend the bride should always go dress shopping with an open mind. A lot of times brides go in with a particular style on their mind but many times the dress she falls in love with is completely different than she had originally envisioned. My second tip would be to only go dress shopping with two maybe three people at most. Too many opinions can cause confusion. Last I would recommend to a bride to pick a gown you will look back on and still love it!

    4. Do tell us a bit more about your inspiration sources.

My inspiration comes from my brides. This season, I really focused on what the brides were looking for as I traveled across the country during my trunk shows.

    5. Have you got any piece you’ve created and that has a very special meaning for you? Can you describe it or can show us a picture?

I do not have a favorite gown-they all have a special spot for me that’s why i name them! Do you know how parents says they love all their children equally? I feel the same way about my bridal gowns!

    6. What do you feel is the most essential design element that every wedding gown should include?

The most important design element of the perfect wedding gown is the fit. One thing every bride has in common is the desire to find a dress that fits like a glove. It hugs your curves in all the right places and hides your problem areas flawlessly.

    7. And tell us what would you give her and, maybe, other brands can’t.

I give my bride sophisticated and glamour with a touch of drama!

    8. Last but not least, do you have any advice for FashionBride readers?

Do an aisle test to make sure the gown looks good from every angle. Go ahead, sit, shimmy, and even twirl in the gown while trying it on—if it’s the right one, you should feel as if you never want to take it off.

    1. When did you decided to become a designer and why did you find this domain interesting?

We have been retailing for almost 2 years and have continued to extend the range to cater for different body shapes and personalities. We have are continuously on the lookout for new fabrics that might appeal to our clientele and we listen to feedback from our clients and work to create necklines and detailing that can be transition from a bridal party setting and cocktail setting. It can be difficult to maintain a balance between evening wear that is made for just one person whilst also ensuring a garment will work well alongside different designs or colours.

    3. Why should a bride-to-be choose one of your designs?
We are always amazed at how our dresses look so different on every bridal party. They come alive on the girls and we have carefully chosen styles that can be accessorised in a number of different ways to create various looks. 5. Have you got any piece you’ve created and that has a very special meaning for you? Can you describe it or can show us a picture?
The Alexandra dress is very dear to me as it was the first garment that we created to flatter women with fuller busts and this was something I was passionate about doing as I can empathise with ladies that are looking for garments that celebrate the feminine physique in a tasteful manner.

    6. From your point of view, how should a perfect bride look like?
A perfect bride should look as happy as she feels. She should choose a garment that not only compliments her figure but also celebrates her personality.

    7. And tell us what would you give her and, maybe, other brands can’t.
The Ava Madison experience. We are passionate about what we do and we get to know our clients on a personal level.

    8. Last but not least, do you have any advice for FashionBride readers?
Ensure that you leave enough time to plan each stage of the wedding. Bridesmaid dress shopping should start at least 6 months prior depending on when you require the dresses. Be flexible on colours and styles and work with your bridal party to choose dresses that they feel comfortable in.

    FashionBride Interview with Judy Panozzo

    Advertisements

Sometimes I really understand how blessed we are to have around us so talented and kind people. One of the persons that impressed me over these months, since I started FashionBride, was Judy Panozzo. And that is because, trough her daughters eyes, I saw how hard and how important is to do what you are destined to do.

You can find out all about the women behind the brand at Bridal Fashion by Millie and at Bridal Fashion by MILLIE . Oh… and in my interview 😀

I love the glamour of your collection. Can you give us some details about your inspiration sources?

My ideas come from popular trends in retail that can be adapted to bridal. I like to watch what the stars are wearing on the red carpet. It really is a fashion industry. You would be surprised how fast the looks change over the seasons.

You are currently preparing to show your new collection. What do we have to look forward to next season?

My gowns become more sophisticated as I become more experienced.

How long does it actually take you to produce one single gown?

From inspiration to finished product takes about 10 weeks.

What was your aim when you started out?

I felt the manufactures were getting carried away with beads and lace. They copy each other, so each company looks pretty much alike.  I wanted a clean, stylish look that would give me a unique signature.  My gowns are all original designs.

What are your memories of the early years?

The hardest piece for me has been getting photos that show how beautiful the gowns really are.

Do you have a favorite gown you’ve created over the years? Or a particular type of gown?

It’s about different fabrics and how well proportioned the gown is for me. You can make a beautiful gown in any style.

Do you work with brides after they decide upon one of your gowns? If so, do they have a lot of input or are you given free reign?

I am not able to customize the gowns at this time. I am planning to do a “Design Star” contest this fall. The winning design will be part of the collection.

Do you have any plans to expand, new shops, new products?

We are currently planning to start offering the line to select stores across the United States.

Can you give a piece of advice to all the FashionBride readers?

Find a good bridal sales consultant and trust her to suggest gowns to try. She knows which gowns are better on. A good salesperson can ask the right questions and watch your body langue. She’ll know what you like before you do.

Nothing is better than creating the most chic, in vogue yet timeless imagery. Ellen Ho, from Hong Photography,  thrives on uniqueness, and express this in all wedding, boudoir, and lifestyle photography.  I fell in love with her work in just a second and I must admit that I would love a photo sesion signed by her for my wedding. That’s why I am delighted that Ellen had a moment to answer some of my questions. Here is a fabulous interview, read it and don’t forget to visit her website.

When did you decided to become a photographer and why did you find this domain interesting?

1 year after graduating from university. I’ve studied Fine Art program focusing on photography at University of Victoria. My sister suggested me to try wedding photography and I did and love it!

Talk us trough the first years of you work. Maybe you could tell us what did change in time? Are your projects different from the very beginning?

There are so many different photography styles. And each year certain photography styles are very popular. When I started doing wedding photography, I went thought many different style in the first 2 years. Then I found the style I love and could define my style. Then after refining my style, now I am focusing on creating innovative and creative style. I think it’s the beginning to the best time of my career as a photographer.

Why should a bride-to-be choose your services?

A bride-to-be should choose my service only when they appreciate my creativity in photography. Not all the couples are suitable for me. And I am not suitable for all the couple. It’s important that the couple and the photographer click. Aside from creating exceptional work, customer service is very important too. I always try to make sure my clients are happy and receive the best service they can get.

Do tell us a bit more about what a bride should do or say to help you – let’s say maybe give you some more details about the lighting on the venue or about the style she will choose for her wedding attire.

I usually go through all the wedding schedule and details with the couples. From lighting, venues, to the wedding style, or even their family. Every little bit helps me to understand them. And the best thing is when they can inspire the photographer!

Have you got any wedding you’ve photographed and that has a very special meaning for you? Can you describe it or can show us a picture?

Unfortunately not yet! But each wedding was so memorable. I am fortunate to be able to share such an important day with so many couples!

From your point of view, how should a perfect wedding be like?

A perfect wedding should be a happy wedding with no stress. The groom and the bride enjoy the wedding no matter what. The wedding is one day in your life.

And tell us what would you offer a future bride and, maybe, other photo teams can’t.

Our style. That’s one thing people can’t copy or take away from us.

Last but not least, do you have any advice for FashionBride readers?
You wedding dress defines the style of your wedding. Choose carefully!

There was very few people in the design industry then and I wanted to offer design services that included clients North of Toronto. I had always had a love to design and worked on interior design as a side interest. It lead me to my passion of event design. I love creating the excitement of working with brides and grooms and the transformation that takes place in one day.

    2. Talk us through the first years of you work. Maybe you could tell us what did change in time? Are your designs different from the very beginning?

The first years were tough getting people to understand custom design and the enormous benefits it provides. What did change was my ambition to become a floral designer and add custom floral design to our services. Design, floral and planning are a very large focus for the day. Having these services combined relieves allot of our brides stress. Our designs are a lot more structured and colorful now. I also more clean lined looks and much less elaborately draped fabrics. Our client’s also understand and personally know the members or our team who will execute the important details. The biggest change I have seen is the number of people involved in the wedding industry. It has gone for a small niche market to a booming industry!

We strive to provide exceptional, personalized customer service and designs that are unique and innovative.

I love, love earthy nature inspired design. I use natural elements in so many of my designs. Many of our clients are looking to get out of the city into a more natural setting. I also have a passion for modern design with strong colour elements. Black is my favourite colour. I personally follow many facets of design including interior design and fashion, from around the world and use this to keep us on the cutting edge. I also travel to a lot of industry seminars to keep me on the leading edge of new innovative ideas.

    5. Have you got any wedding/event you’ve designed and that has a very special meaning for you?

One of the first weddings I designed after I opened the company was my own. Special ones also include my assistant Debbie and my current project, the design of my Lead Planner Jessica’s wedding in May 2012.

    6. From your point of view, how should a perfect wedding be like?

A perfect wedding runs seamlessly. It is a reflection of the clients personality and style. The focus should be the Bride and Groom totally enjoying the people they love around them. Any small hiccups that occur are handled by the planner and design team “behind the scenes”.

    7. And tell us what would you give her and, maybe, other brands can’t.

Customized invitations allow you to show off your personal style and help you define your wedding profile. If you’re not a very creative person or if you have a thousand ideas that you can’t seem to match, graphic designer Marie-Josée  from carteblanchedesign will help you find your way trough this style jungle.

To find out more about her work and her inspiration we asked her to answer a couple of FashionBrides questions. Here’s the result! enjoy!

    1. When did you decided to become a designer and why did you find this domain interesting?
I became interested in art from an early age, but decided on design as a career during my time at OCAD. I find graphic design most interesting because it blends disciplined training with the endless creative possibilities.

    2. Talk us through the first years of your work. Maybe you could tell us what did change in time? Are your designs  different from the very beginning?
I started off in the business ten years ago moonlighting while working in corporate brand identity. I pride myself in having real design flexibility, which never stops stretching. My latest thing is what call “inconsistent consistency”.

    3. Why should a bride-to-be choose you for her wedding?
Other then creative quality I also pride myself on service. I know a wedding is not always easy to plan so I make sure each bride’s experience in working with me is one of the best. I work closely with every couple making the process as  clearand smooth as possible.

    4. Do tell us a bit more about your inspiration sources.
Getting inspired is one of my favourite things being a designer. I like to think a little further then colour, fonts and pockets. I look into cultural influences, nature, movies, architecture, fabric, food, art… along with other design related /’mediums.

    5. Have you got any wedding/event you’ve designed and that has a very special meaning for you? Can you describe it or can show us a picture?
I would have to say “art deco” for this one. A bride came to me and told me that her fiance had proposed in NY city at the bottom of the Waldolf hotel. So needless to say I was all over her ideas… we worked together hand in hand from save the dates to invites, wedding day stationery and even thank you cards. I still love the designs.

    6. From your point of view, how should a perfect wedding be like?
The perfect wedding should be a genuine expression of the couple. One that is natural and not afraid to be original.

    7. And tell us what would you give her and, maybe, other brands can’t.
    – ten years experience
    – conceptual design that you can call your own

    8. Last but not least, do you have any advice for FashionBride readers?
Enjoy planning your wedding as it only comes once in a lifetime. Make your wedding stationery one your guests won’t forget. Remember your invitations are the first visual piece everyone will see… so be sure to make a great first  impression!

FashionBride Interview with Patricia of Cre8ive Invitations

    Advertisements

It’s impossible to work in this field and not to have certain favourites, of course you like everyone and appreciate every individual piece, but there are a few people who you simply can’t help but like. Patricia, the owner of Cre8ive Invitations, is exactly that type of person.

Her absolute love for her work and her incredible talent make you love every piece she signs. To my delight Patricia accepted the invitation of answering my FashionBride questionnaire. Here is the result! Enjoy!

When did you decide to become a designer & why did you find this domain interesting?

I was designing and creating invitations for family and friends for years as a hobby before it became my full-time career. I have always been passionate for all things paper plus great design. As a child I loved to collect notebooks, diary’s, paper dolls – anything paper. So after leaving corporate life in the fall of 2004, I knew I needed to combine my two favourite things; 1) love of paper & 2 ) unique design. During my research, I noticed very little had changed since choosing invitations for my own wedding more than 20 years ago. I am now one of the fortunate few where my passion is my job.

Talk us through the first years of your work. Maybe you could tell us what did change in time? Are your designs different from the very beginning?

Our first years were exciting – everything was new! New life experiences, new vendors, new clients. I was gratified to find the invitations that I had created ‘for fun’ over the years were embraced by all. The buzz & word of mouth generated by my first clients reinforced to me that I was indeed on the right track. Many of those very first clients are still clients today!

Our designs remain unique, elegant and fun, but we’ve been able to offer much more since our beginning; brilliant Swarovski Crystals, elegant Glass beaded Papers, unique textures and eye-popping embellishments. Elements sourced from all over the world.

Why should a bride-to-be choose one of your designs?

If a bride-to-be is looking for truly unique design coupled with stunning papers & embellishments, then we can help. Our designs are fresh & original and strike an emotional chord with our clients – both bride & groom-to-be alike. They arrive for their first consultation unsure & perhaps a little overwhelmed by the list of pre-wedding ‘to-do’s’. But they leave our studio with incredible excitement knowing that their invitation will truly set their event in motion & IGNITE EXCITEMENT to their big day.

Do tell us a bit more about your inspiration sources.

Inspiration for our designs sometimes come from the most unusual places. For instance, a series of events posted on a white board during an FBI TV show triggered the creation of our very popular “Time Line”. Our clients love them! We incorporate icons, dates/times & a brief description of the event along a time-line. At a glance, guests can see exactly what is happening where & when.

Inspiration is everywhere – travel, nature, architecture, interior design & so much more.

Have you got any piece you’ve created that has special meaning for you? Can you describe it or can you show us a picture?

One of my favorite pieces is an invitation I created following a trip to Paris, France. I fell in love with the city. The language, the lifestyle, the romance & of course the iconic Eiffel Tower. We created a square invitation with soft, romantic feathers. On the cover we added a shaker box brimming with faux pearls & micro beads that move around & ‘shake‘. Within the shaker box is an image of the Eiffel Tower at the end of a long tree-lined path. We added a brilliant Swarovski Crystal accent to the tip of the tower for added glamour.

As it turns out, we’re not the only one that loved how this invitation turned out.
    It’s currently featured in;

    • WedLuxe Magazine – The Daydream Issue – Toronto & Eastern Canada, Summer/Fall 2010
    • Elegant Wedding Magazine – Toronto, Volume 2, 2010 – 2011
    • image attached

From your point of view, what should a perfect wedding be like?

A ‘perfect wedding’ can be different things to different people. Some may like a party or night club atmosphere, others may prefer a casual backyard gathering under the stars, while some couples may prefer a cocktail party feel with comfortable seating & soft music. Regardless of the mood or theme you want to create, continuity is key. Keep your chosen theme consistent. Pay special attention to the details of your chosen theme and you’ll be guaranteed a day that you and your guests will never forget.

Tell us what would you offer and, maybe, other brands can’t.

Cre8ive Invitations is founded on two key principles; provide a unique product with outstanding Customer Service. From the first moment a bride contacts us whether through a referral, our website [ www.cre8iveinvitations], Twitter [Twitter.com/Cre8iveInvite] or print media, our ability to engage with & earn a client’s trust is foremost in our minds.

We have been told by Event Planners & Brides alike that from the very first consultation where themes, colours & visions come to life, to the very last Thank You card we create following their event, we were always there to consult, guide, recommend & create an unforgettable product with an exceptional vendor experience.

Last but not least, do you have any advice for FashionBride readers?

Have fun & enjoy the planning & preparation of your big day. Planning a wedding is for most, the biggest event they will ever organize. But all too often the ‘fun’ is lost among the long ‘to-do’ lists. Remember to allow yourself plenty of time & have fun along the way !!

FashionBride interview with Jenny Lu from Albeit

    Advertisements

Albeit is the vision of renowned up-and-coming designer, Jenny Lu; to push beyond contemporary concepts and styles of jewelry by redefining what classic is. The product is original and delicate with a sleek sophistication that not only enhances the wearer’s outfit, but also reflects a philosophy of life and style. It is elegant and understated, yet feminine, playful, and distinct.

To find out more about her work and personal style, but also about some great wedding tips, we talked to Jenny and made up this amazing interview. Read along and enjoy all these precious info!

    1. When did you decided to become a designer and why did you find this domain interesting?

Ever since I was a girl, I’ve always been drawn to art and design. I love the way fashion, jewelry, buildings, and interiors change and beautify our everyday perception of the world. My particular interest was initially rooted in architecture and interiors, which I pursued in my studies. My designs for Albeit Jewelry have been heavily influenced by this. With influences from the work of Zaha Hadid and Daniel Libeskind, I have come to realize that architecture is very much like pieces of jewels strewn over a vast landscape. Inspired by Hadid’s constant morphing shapes in her buildings, the notion ‘art in flux’ has really had an impact on my design style. With this convergence of architecture and jewelry design, I have tried to create pieces that translate this fluidity in life.

    2. Talk us trough the first years of you work. Maybe you could tell us what did change in time? Are your designs different from the very beginning?

Well, this is my first collection. But in my next collection which I am currently working on, I would like to build upon and explore how further I can push this switch in design vocabulary.

    3. Why should a bride-to-be choose one of your designs?

A bride-to-be should choose my pieces because it’s the perfect platform for self-expression in the utmost understated manner. It signifies a little bit of the wearer in its simplicity, however it is this simplicity in design that conveys the power and sophistication of the wearer. It exudes a flirtatious mystery or an intimate secret with a hint of who you are and what you share with your beloved. It shows the world that the possibilities are endless and there is a special story between the bride and groom that only you two know of. Whether you wear a letter initial to celebrate your new last name or wear a sacred number that perhaps you and your other half-share, there is something very distinct about wearing a pendant that is uniquely catered to your story.

    4. Do tell us a bit more about your inspiration sources.

I love incorporating 2 Dimensional typographical elements into 3 Dimensional objects. Whether it’s a direct extruding of the font type or an extraction of the meaning of the graphic principles, I love how typography decodes so many informative details. Typography has the ability to instantaneously tell us a time period, a location, a vibe and characteristics of this certain breed. The font used for Albeit’s pendants suggests a modern sophisticated women that also has an appetite for a flare.

    5. Have you got any piece you’ve created and that has a very special meaning for you? Can you describe it or can show us a picture?

I’ve always been a big fan of curly brackets….or others might call it the parenthesis symbol. Not only do I love the shape and curve of this symbol, I love what it implies; Indicating that there’s more to be told, that there is an additional depth and complexity to the overall story. I love the open-ended mystery it suggests!

    6. From your point of view, how should a perfect bride look like?

A perfect bride should look effortless and comfortable in her own skin. She should not try to fit a particular mold or tradition, but try to look the way that makes her feel beautiful and represents who she is.

    7. And tell us what would you give her and, maybe, other brands can’t.

Albeit can give an everlasting necklace in either 14k or white gold. It will stay with you even if you wear them in the shower. The necklaces will never tarnish. It’s subtle and dainty, yet it makes a bold statement on it’s own.

FashionBride Interview with Caroline from Paloma’s Nest

    Advertisements

What is a wedding without its great details? I think every great thing has his small details that make it as grand and a wedding would lose a great lot if it wouldn’t have handcrafted modern heirlooms as the ones featured at Paloma’s Nest.

Caroline, the designer,  strives to create items of meaning and purpose from these materials, while leaving the characteristics true. By adding text to the designs, written ideas, feelings, and daydreams are given a place to rest. I thought we should find out a bit more about her work and I had a small interview that will reveal more about her work and passion. Enjoy!

    1. When did you decided to become a designer and why did you find this domain interesting?
I became a designer as a way to bring my art to a larger audience; to create pieces of beauty and inspiration that may be enjoyed by others. I love being a part of the wedding industry because it celebrates such a beautiful time in one’s life: a time full of love, union, and family. To create pieces, such as our Ring Bearer Bowls ™, that can be a part of this special time, and also be cherished for years into the future… that is the basis of what I do at Paloma’s Nest.

    2. Talk us trough the first years of your work. Maybe you could tell us what did change in time? Are your designs different from the very beginning?
I began the company on a very small-scale, from a studio in my home. Over time, as the interest in my work grew, so did the business. There is certainly a niche that my products fill a niche for hand crafted, personalized keepsakes with a timeless elegance to them. Our designs may change as the years go by, but our commitment to quality and the design aesthetic of our brand will always be the same we craft our pieces from the finest materials available, made by hand by skilled and talented artisans.

    3. Why should a bride-to-be choose one of your designs?
Paloma’s Nest is the creator of the Original Ring Bearer Bowl ™, a design that has become a new tradition in modern wedding ceremonies around the globe. Our idea of using a ceramic bowl to hold the rings in a wedding ceremony, and our innovative design which makes the bowl double as a holiday ornament or home decoration after the ceremony, is completely unique to Paloma’s Nest. Our brides and grooms appreciate that the piece they use to hold their rings in their wedding can later be displayed in their home, and is destined to become a modern heirloom to be passed on for generations.

    4. Do tell us a bit more about your inspiration sources.
I am inspired by the pure concept of an heirloom, and a strong sense of history the idea that something can be cherished so deeply by someone, that their family will love and treasure it, too, long into the future. The idea that an object can transcend time and decades, and land in the hands of a great great grandchild. With that inspiration, I focus on creating designs that are modern but not “trendy”. I want your heirloom-quality piece to look as beautiful in 100 years as it does today.

    5. Have you got any piece you’ve created and that has a very special meaning for you? Can you describe it or can show us a picture?
The piece that holds the most personal meaning for me is the Heirloom Wedding Bowl that I created for my husband and I right before our wedding day five years ago.

This piece was made long before “Paloma’s Nest” was a company, long before I was in the position of creating my art for my clients on a daily basis. This piece I made for my now-husband is hand stamped with our names and wedding date. Though it is a simple bowl, and a bit elementary compared to the work I create now, it is one of our prized possessions and I have no doubt that it will be passed on for generations to come.

    6. From your point of view, how should a perfect bride look like?
Happy. If a bride is happy, that is all that matters.

    7. And tell us what would you give her and, maybe, other brands can’t.
We offer all of our couples a commitment to quality and service, based on the dedication, passion, and care that goes into creating our designs. Paloma’s Nest will be their source for handcrafted modern heirlooms for many years to come- not only for wedding gifts, or on their wedding day, but for keepsakes that commemorate the most special of occasions: births, anniversaries, holidays. The Paloma’s Nest collection offers designs perfect for all of life’s occasions, and more. We are a company based on longevity, and hope that our pieces will be a part of our clients lives at every stage and every turning point.
