Since the age of twelve, Janell Berte understood her calling was in the realm of fashion. In her early years she won fashion awards from numerous competitive events, including the National Scholastic Art Award. Until 1982, when she opened her doors to private clients wanting a Berte wedding gown and other dresses. Then she began to offer her collection through a number of high end department stores, such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.

      

Janell Berte wedding dresses are recognized and fashion forward. Janell Berte won the 2004 Bridal Manufacturers Association (IMBA) award, and she created 24 bridal gowns for the film Something New released in February 2006.
