“Every woman dreams of that day. You have to go the extra mile and fulfill that dream to make something that a woman will fall in love with.” Those were Oscar de la Renta’s bridal show notes on Monday, and he lived up to that promise with a lineup of fairy-tale gowns for spring.

Carolina Herrera 2014 Bridal Spring Collection

For her spring bridal collection, Carolina Herrera worked lace in a number of whimsical ways. She opened the show with a series of gowns featuring hand-painted lace motifs, later moving into several metallic variations. A gold Chantilly lace gown featured a gold embroidered bodice and waist, while another Chantilly style was decorated in beautiful silver beading.

Barely a week after giving birth to her son, Georgina Chapman got back to business on Friday, hosting Marchesa’s spring 2014 bridal runway show with co-founder Keren Craig. The romantic, airy gowns featured fitted corsets with ruffled, cascading layers of tulle. An embroidered lace gown, done with a detachable taffeta skirt to give the illusion of a peplum, was a standout.
