Royal Bride: Mohammed VI and Salma Bennani of Morroco

tumblr_m735f0R6sm1ru3stjo1_1280 - Copy

The marriage of Mohammed VI and Salma Bennani changed the history of royal marriage in Morocco. Traditionally, the wife of the king hasn’t had a public role to play. Moroccan kings have typically been polygamists prone to secret marriages to wives who remain private figures. The current king’s own mother is not photographed, and there is no “queen consort” title in Morocco.

Steal that style: Julio Iglesias Jr. and Charisse Verhaert

julio iglesias jr wedding (14)

If you are the son of one of the greatest spanish singer as Julio Iglesias and successful businesswoman and media darling and notorious socialite as Isabel Preysler than you wedding day is bound to be a social event.

And Julio Iglesias Junior didn’t seem to mind that at all when he married Belgian model Charisse Verhaert. Hola paid for the exclusive photos and I must say the wedding doesn’t look bad at all. I’m in love with the location and the vintage feel of the gown. The wedding took place in Aldea del Fresno, outside Madrid, and the bride wore a lace gown designed by Manuel Mota for Pronovias. Congrats to the happy couple.

Princess Style Diary: Victoria of Sweden

victoria of sweden (13)

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden is one tough lady and one of my favorite princesses – she will inherit her father’s throne, has an amazing love and respect for her husband (pretty sure you all remember that fabulous wedding they had) but most of all she is imperfect like all of us.

Victoria is one of the few members of royal families that have admitted to suffering from eating disorders, having low self esteem and battling depression. And that hasn’t made her look weak at all, to me she is the living proof that you can have it all and yet feel uncomfortable with yourself – a far cry truth from all those “i am perfect with a perfect life” stories that celebs feed us these days.

Princess Victoria defeated her demons, married a handsome and loving man and has a beautiful baby daughter. She grew spiritually and emotionally and she proves we can all tackle our problems and get that lovely life we all deserve. For one who really hated how she looked like (exact quote: I really hated how I looked like, how I was) she is today a true fashion icon and a model for women of all shapes and sizes. Victoria of Sweden is indeed a princess of our world!

Steal that style: Jacquetta Wheeler and James Allsopp

Sometimes a princess appears where you least expect it! If we all dreamed of a vintage gown for Kate Middleton and were let down, Jacquetta Wheeler managed to prove that there is still an English Rose to look up to. Jacquetta married banker James Allsopp in a wedding that was nothing else than picture-perfect. “I feel like I’m in The Truman Show!” laughed hair maestro Ashley Javier, and he was not far from the truthy. The wedding was perfectly planned and proved that dreams can really come true.

Champagne, Moroccan mint tea, and cakes were served on the terraces. In the dinner marquee—a study in soft pink, hung with globes of pink gypsophila—tables were named for towns in Morocco, a perfect idea to incorporate a part of your family tradition in your wedding.

Steal that style: Phoebe Papadopoulos and Nicolas de Croisset

Phoebe Papadopoulos wedding Nicolas de Croisset (16)

When you think of a Vogue wedding you can expect anything less than perfection. Well Vogue Special Events Associate Phoebe Papadopoulos’s wedding to financier Nicolas de Croisset was no less.

I absolutely love that the bride chose to celebrate her roots and opted for a destination ceremony rooted in Greece. Her family is originally from Thessaloniki and she paid respect and homage to her roots by celebrating her special day in Greece.

The gown was simple yet chic and classy, you know I’m a big fan of lace so you can’t deny that the beautiful lace details give a special note to this stunning piece. Another detail I absolutely adore is the use of peonies, in the bridal bouquet but also table decoration. Lovely!

Steal that style: Dona Maria Elizabeth de Orléans e Bragança and Prince Pedro Henrique de Orléans

Prince William and Kate’s wedding caught everyone’s attention but some royals aren’t so known or want to make their weddings a public affair. That is the case of dona Maria Elizabeth de Orléans e Bragança, daughter of Prince Francisco de Orléans e Bragança [himself the son of Prince Pedro Henrique de Orléans e Bragança and Princess Maria of Bavaria].

The beautiful Maria married Pablo Trindade de Souza on the 6 August 2012 at Igreja de Nossa Senhora da Glória, in Rio de Janeiro. The bride wore a beautiful mantilla as a veil and had a lovely white bouquet.
