Reem Acra’s spring collection focused on the sensuality of the female body. Key looks included a short embroidered illusion dress with a cascading tulle skirt and a silk crepe column gown with a draped back and embroidered illusion on one shoulder.

An architecture student-turned designer, Judd Waddell enjoyed early success at Carolina Herrera and then created the “Occasions” bridesmaid line for Jim Hjelm. Judd also designed the bridal gown and wedding party dresses for the 1998 movie, “The Object of My Affection”.

Isaac Mizrahi’s Inspiration for his Premier Collection for Kleinfeld: “This was a labor of love for me. Bridal is where it all begins — so i tried to bring things I love the most. There are floral inspirations in the embroideries, in the lace, in a lot of the draping. Also gingham, which is something I associate with happiness and Americana”.

Barely a week after giving birth to her son, Georgina Chapman got back to business on Friday, hosting Marchesa’s spring 2014 bridal runway show with co-founder Keren Craig. The romantic, airy gowns featured fitted corsets with ruffled, cascading layers of tulle. An embroidered lace gown, done with a detachable taffeta skirt to give the illusion of a peplum, was a standout.
