When did you decided to become a designer and why did you find this domain interesting?

I started the Charlotte Balbier brand over 10 years ago and it’s grown hugely! It’s been a great success as we brought fresh designs to the industry! I come from a long line of bridal designers. My grandparents owned a chain of bridal stores. My mother is award winning bridal designer Amanda Wyatt! So as you can see, bridal is a family business!

Talk us trough the first years of you work. Maybe you could tell us what did change in time?

The interest in the Charlotte Balbier brand has spiraled upwards from starting the brand in the beginning. It is always hard work in the beginning but the brand has grown to be a great success! We have great relationships with stockists all around the country, journalists and we’re looking to expand into the US next year!

Are your designs different from the very beginning?

Of course! Trends, fashions and tastes change so we’ve altered our designs from the beginning. We like to always be the first to come out with new styles and stay on top of being the ‘most wanted’ bridal designer. We’ve tried to stay ahead by being really on trend for brides.

Why should a bride-to-be choose one of your designs?

We create beautiful gowns that are fresh and modern for the independent lady! Our fabrics and fit is absolutely divine! We wanted to bring something new to the industry and to create gowns at very reasonable prices for a girl to feel like a Princess on her big day!!

Do tell us a bit more about your inspiration sources.

Many designers on the catwalk inspire me, I love haute couture and high fashion and you’ll see these inspirations trickle down into the Charlotte Balbier designs! I also meet many of my brides first-hand because I attend trunk-shows up and down the Country! I listen to all the feedback I receive on my designs!

From your point of view, how should a perfect bride look like?

Of course she should look her best and absolutely stunning! But it’s important the bride feels comfortable on her big-day too! You must feel at ease in your gown to spend the day meeting and greeting your guests!

And tell us what would you give her and, maybe, other brands can’t.

When you buy a Charlotte Balbier dress you are not just purchasing a dress! Your coming into our Charlotte Balbier bubble and experiencing everything that comes with our brand. All our pink, gold and nude signature colours, lovely champagne events and you can often meet Charlotte Balbier in person too as she travels the Country doing events!

Last but not least, do you have any advice for FashionBride readers?

I always say this to every bride! You should really put plenty of trust in the sales consultant helping you at the bridal store! They are experts at what they do and nine times out of ten they’ll pick out the best dress for you!
