Steal that style: Emily Blunt

Emily Olivia Leah Blunt is an English actress known for her work in the films My Summer of Love and The Devil Wears Prada. She won the 2007 Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film for the BBC TV film Gideon’s Daughter and was nominated for the same award in the movie category for The Devil Wears Prada. Blunt costarred in independent film Sunshine Cleaning (2008) [via wiki].

But the Britannia British Artist of the Year designee’s recent role as the royal title character in “The Young Victoria” doesn’t have an ounce of snootiness. “What I found fascinating was the world she lived in,” Blunt says. “She was constantly under duress. She was living a life under the glare of the public. I wanted to do her justice, and show the passion and love in her life — show the other side of her life.”

Filmgoers accustomed to seeing the dour, black-clad queen will find Blunt offering them an emotional, passionate young woman underneath the imperial public face. I shall post more about her role in The Young Victoria in the upcoming week.

Steal that style: Grace Kelly
Grace Kelly is one of the most admired women in the world. Even today, she is upheld as a standard of beauty, grace, and style. Her talent and persona influenced the great motion picture director Alfred Hitchcock so strongly that he attempted to make other actresses into her image, without success.
Grace Patricia Kelly was born on 12 November 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 1951, she appeared in her first film entitled Fourteen Hours. The following year her career took off when she landed the role of Amy Kane in High Noon.
After her marriage, when she become Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco, she gave up her acting career, having made 11 films.
She and Prince Rainier went on to have three children – Caroline, Albert, and Stephanie.

Steal that style: Ivanka Trump
[source]
Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka customized her breathtaking wedding gown with the help of Vera Wang — “The Insider” talks with the sought-after designer to hear the inspiration behind the bride’s dream dress. Wang says the design of Ivanka’s dress was taken from Grace Kelly’s gown that she wore when she wed Prince Rainier III in 1956. The designer describes her rendition of the historic dress as “majestic” and “demure.”
“For Ivanka’s wedding, she very definitely wanted to be covered,” Wang tells “The Insider” of the bride’s dress request. “It hearkened back to another time which is incredibly romantic.” The dress was extremely intricate, with three different tiers of hand-appliquéd lace that were different shades of ivory. “Ivanka is very hands on in her life. … She was quite precise on what she wished to convey,” Wang tells “The Insider.

Steal that style: Romy Schneider (II)
Having played Sissi in two subsequent sequels, Romy became nauseated by the saccharine “nice girl” image she had fashioned for herself and was determined to make a fresh start. In 1957, Paramount Studios was ready to offer her a three year contract, but her family intervened, thwarting a promising career in America.
In the mid-1960s, Hollywood beckoned and Romy Schneider made a few notable appearances, in Good Neighbor Sam (1964) and What’s New, Pussycat? (1965). Having failed to make much of a mark in America, Romy returned to France.

Steal that style: Romy Schneider
Romy Schneider’s first movie was Wenn der weiße Flieder wieder blüht (When the White Lilacs Bloom Again) in 1953, credited as Romy Schneider-Albach. In 1954, Schneider for the first time portrayed a royal, playing a young Queen Victoria in the Austrian film Mädchenjahre einer Königin (known in the U.S. as The Story of Vicky and in Britain as Victoria in Dover).
Schneider’s breakthrough came with her portrayal of Elisabeth, Empress Consort of Austria, in the romantic biopic Sissi (1955) and its two sequels, Sissi – The Young Empress (1956) and Sissi – Fateful Years of an Empress (1957), all with Karlheinz Böhm, who became a close friend.
Romy Schneider was only 17 when she played the title role in “Sissi”, a romantic movie about the young Bavarian princess that became the empress of Austria. The film was Schneider’s breakthrough — it turned the Austrian-born actress into an instant 1950s film diva.
She didn’t want to be a princess all her life. “Yes, I loved this role back then,” Schneider said. “I was the princess, not just in front of the camera. I was always a princess. But one day I simply did not want to be a princess anymore.”
Despite the success, Schneider was desperate to get away from the naive and innocent characters that she was made to play in post-war Germany. “Sissi sticks to me like oatmeal,” she said. [via wikipedia and problogs.com]

A full-length silver sequinned number provided a splash of Hollywood glamour before the actress donned a series of slinky column dresses in pewter and then white. The actress also squeezed into a knee-length silver tube dress and a floaty purple ensemble during the awards.

Steal that style: Freddie Windsor and Sophie Winkleman
After copious amounts of herbal valium, a dress rehearsal and some last-minute jitters over the ever-expanding budget, Lord Freddie Windsor and actress Sophie Winkleman married in a candlelit ceremony at Hampton Court yesterday.
After the ceremony, the emotional bride admitted: ‘I wept through the whole thing.’ She had swept into the grounds of Henry VIII’s favourite palace in a silver Rolls-Royce accompanied by her 70-year-old father Barry, clasping a bouquet of cream roses and waving to the crowds that lined the street. Steal that style: Madonna
Like the seasons Madonna Fashion Trends evolves to fit her lifestyle and adapts to her changing fashion environment. She went from an edgy “Material Girl” image in the 80s to a raw sexy look with the cone shaped bra to sophistication in the early 90s during her portrayal of Evita Peron in the film Argentina.
From there she took a turn in her life towards religion and spirituality and so did her wardrobe as she wore relaxed sari type garments. Today, Madonna is still an icon in the fashion industry and leading trends as we speak
