3 Tips to change your Wedding Gown by Yourself

    October 3, 2018 /

Your wedding gown is supposed to be the most exquisite gown you will ever wear so that means you have the opportunity to make a statement. Either you purchase it as is or embellish it yourself here are a few ideas to make your wedding gown perfect.

We’ve partnered with Tissura, the leading online fabric store, to created this useful tips that will get your wedding gown from ordinary to outstanding.

    1.Add a bit of sparkle

Have a belt heavily embellished with white and pearl beads, rhinestones and bugles to cinch your waist and draw the eye to your most flattering angle. It is the perfect way to add more sparkle without entirely changing your gown.

    2. Get the feather trim

Have you chosen a mermaid that would need a bit more vavavoom? Then add a special feather trim that will elevate your look and create one of the trendiest gowns of the season. And if you have a clip on trim you can simply remove it after a while. This delicate trim consists of soft white feathers attached to a piece of sheer tulle. The middle part is encrusted with fancy shaped rhinestones, arranged in a flower pattern.

    3. Make a ribbon

Either for a mermaid or a princess gown a ribbon will always make you look a million dollars. This ecru ribbon is woven from silk and cotton fibers in a satin and grosgrain design. Smart and elegant, it boasts a bit of texture lacking in plain satin ribbons.

Fabrics for a fairy tale wedding gown

    July 28, 2018 /

Choosing the fabric of your wedding dress is as hard as deciding on the gown itself. You have to consider the weight, texture, drape, feel and overall look of the fabric in order to have the perfect wedding gown. If you have a custom made gown ask your designer to help you choose the perfect material from the best retailers.

Our personal favorite at the moment is Tissura a wonderful online space where you can browse through an array of fabrics perfect for your wedding day.

The material you decide should be delicate, solemn and most of all it should suit you best. Our current favorite is French lace, a unique choice that will make you wedding gown fashionable and timeless – some of the brides that have chosen French lace are Grace Kelly and more recently the duchess of Cambridge Catherine.

At Tissura you can choose from the most renowned European fabric manufacturers, which fabrics are proven to be impeccably styled and woven. Those are Ruffo Coli (Italy), Riechers Marescot (France), Sophie Hallette (France), Belinac (France), Taroni (Italy), Marco Lagatolla (Italy), Luigi Verga (Italy), Jakob Schlaepfer (Switzerland) and Frontline (Switzerland).

You want to choose a fabric that flatters you and it makes you feel like your own fairy tale has come true. And what better ways than choosing European couture fabrics that will make you feel like a real princess.

Tell us, what are your favorite Tissura fabrics?

How to Find the Best Wedding Gown for Your Body

    March 1, 2014 /

NaheemKahnVeniceShopping for a wedding dress is not an easy task, no matter your body’s shape. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways you can find that perfect gown that will suit your frame just right. The wedding dresses Philadelphia has to offer are stunning – and you will be too when you wear them. Here are a few pieces of advice to consider in choosing a gown:

If you have a small frame with few curves, you will look fabulous in a trumpet skirt. A long mermaid skirt will make you look taller. If that really isn’t your cup of tea, you can choose a toga-style gown that will make you look like a beautiful goddess. Asymmetry will look natural on your small frame.

Pear-shape women tend to have a smaller bust with wide hips. Asymmetrical straps and tiers of fabric will look fantastic on your body, especially because they have a slimming effect. You might consider taffeta, which will not stick to the hips.

Plus-size women often choose to accentuate the bust and play it loose on the bottom. This is a great technique if you want to downplay the curves of your waist and bottom. Chiffon is a great choice in fabric to avoid snug-fitting clothing.

Busty gals should not try to cover the entirety of the chest. This will only accentuate the size. If you want to show some cleavage, aim for a gown made of silk-satin with a sweetheart or V-shape neckline. If you are aiming for modesty, choose an A-line gown with a scoop neck and wide straps. It will look fantastic!

While the classic hourglass shape is coveted, many women struggle to find a gown that suits the shape naturally. Show off your figure with a flattering silk-satin gown with a dropped waist. A decorated bodice with ruffles and beads may provide a dramatic look. A corset top is a great alternative.

If you have wide shoulders, you should highlight them rather than downplay them. Choose a dress with long sleeves that you can wear off-shoulder – think Sleeping Beauty style.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways you can dress for your shape. You are going to look gorgeous in the gown you choose.
