Quality doesn’t stop on the outside as all of Sarah’s gowns are lined in luxurious silk as well. fashionBride Interview with Marie-JosΓ©e from CarteBlancheDesign

Customized invitations allow you to show off your personal style and help you define your wedding profile. If you’re not a very creative person or if you have a thousand ideas that you can’t seem to match, graphic designer Marie-JosΓ©eΒ  from carteblanchedesign will help you find your way trough this style jungle.

To find out more about her work and her inspiration we asked her to answer a couple of FashionBrides questions. Here’s the result! enjoy!

    1. When did you decided to become a designer and why did you find this domain interesting?
I became interested in art from an early age, but decided on design as a career during my time at OCAD. I find graphic design most interesting because it blends disciplined training with the endless creative possibilities.

    2. Talk us through the first years of your work. Maybe you could tell us what did change in time? Are your designsΒ  different from the very beginning?
I started off in the business ten years ago moonlighting while working in corporate brand identity. I pride myself in having real design flexibility, which never stops stretching. My latest thing is what call “inconsistent consistency”.

    3. Why should a bride-to-be choose you for her wedding?
Other then creative quality I also pride myself on service. I know a wedding is not always easy to plan so I make sure each bride’s experience in working with me is one of the best. I work closely with every couple making the process asΒ  clearand smooth as possible.

    4. Do tell us a bit more about your inspiration sources.
Getting inspired is one of my favourite things being a designer. I like to think a little further then colour, fonts and pockets. I look into cultural influences, nature, movies, architecture, fabric, food, art… along with other design related /’mediums.

    5. Have you got any wedding/event you’ve designed and that has a very special meaning for you? Can you describe it or can show us a picture?
I would have to say “art deco” for this one. A bride came to me and told me that her fiance had proposed in NY city at the bottom of the Waldolf hotel. So needless to say I was all over her ideas… we worked together hand in hand from save the dates to invites, wedding day stationery and even thank you cards. I still love the designs.

    6. From your point of view, how should a perfect wedding be like?
The perfect wedding should be a genuine expression of the couple. One that is natural and not afraid to be original.

    7. And tell us what would you give her and, maybe, other brands can’t.
    – ten years experience
    – conceptual design that you can call your own

    8. Last but not least, do you have any advice for FashionBride readers?
Enjoy planning your wedding as it only comes once in a lifetime. Make your wedding stationery one your guests won’t forget. Remember your invitations are the first visual piece everyone will see… so be sure to make a great firstΒ  impression!
