Royal Bride: Mette Marit and Hakoon of Norway

Mette Marit made her first appearance as the future bride of Hakoon of Norway at the Nobel ceremony held in Oslo in 10 december of 2010. Their engagement was announced on the 1-st of december of the same year to the surprise of most norwegians.

They married on on 25 August 2001 at the Oslo Cathedral and Mette became Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway. The Crown Princess Mette-Marit wore a wedding dress inspired by the gown worn by Queen Maud’s The dress was made by Ove Harder Finseth and seamstress Anna Bratland.

The gown was made of specially dyed ecru thick silk crêpe and soft silk tulle. It had a bodice and the skirt is flared with a two metre long train, that is edged with decorated tulle that resembles waves in the sand.
